The Japanese wrestling promotion Stardom's Heel Stable, Queen's Quest (Viper, Io Shirai, HZK, Momo Watanabe, AZM).
The stable debuted on April 12th, 2016 when Jungle Kyona, Kairi Hojo and Mayu Iwatani took on HZK, Io Shirai and Momo Watanabe.
As far as I can tell, HZM was added in 2017 and Viper in 2018.

Vintage Japanese Women's Wrestling
Here are some pictures of Old School Japanese female wrestlers.
The vintage female wrestlers seem to be very popular on my other wrestling blogs so I thought I would give them a try here and see how everyone liked them.

Io Shirai Not Going To WWE
Well it looks like the former two time World of Stardom Champion, one-time Goddess of Stardom, Wonder of Stardom, High Speed and SWA World Champion, five-time Artist of Stardom Champion and 2015 and 2016 women's wrestler of the year (Tokyo Sports) is not going to the WWE.
She and Kairi Hojo had been contacted and offered WWE contracts, starting in 2017.
But after a WWE medical examination discovered a neck injury that would delay Shirai's WWE debut, she was released even after doctors had cleared Shirai to return to the ring.
The WWE said that they had a "general rule of not wanting to bring in new talent that either has concussion issues or neck issues".
I wonder what, if any, effect that will have on Kairi Hojo (Kairi Sane) since she suffered both a concussion and a neck injury during the tapings of the Mae Young Classic tournament.

Kairi Hojo Coming to WWE
When I did the write up on Japanese female wrestler "Pirate Princess" Kairi Hojo back in 2015, I knew she was good.
Since then, Dave Meltzer (Wrestling Observer Newsletter) said that Kairi, along with Io Shirai and Mayu Iwatani were "three of the best wrestlers in the world".
And now Kairi has been signed by the WWE to a three year contract.
So get ready to see more Kairi...except here in the US.

Kana in the Ring - Japanese Female Wrestlers
You know how I always say on this blog, "When in doubt, post Kana"?
Well sadly I was in doubt and didn't know what to post.
So...Kana of course.
So here are just some random shots of Kana mixing it up in the ring.

Arisa Nakajima - Female Japanese Wrestlers
I havent done anything on the lovely Arisa Nakajima in a while, so here's an update.
Arisa was born on April 6th, 1989 in Chichibu, Saitama, Japan, the same city that famous Japanese pro wrestler Akira Taue is from.
After training with the Major Girl's Fighting AtoZ promotion for a little over a year, she made her wrestling debut on January 3rd, 2006, against Mika Mizunuma in Korakuen Hall.
She has worked for Major Girl's Fighting AtoZ, JWP Joshi Puroresu (JWP Project) and JDStar and during her career has held more titles and won more awards than you can shake a stick at.
Arisa is five foot three and weighs in at 130 pounds.

All Japan Women's Pro-Wrestling
You probably already knew that several female Japanese wrestlers, not only wrestled, but also had singing careers.
To me, most of this is as painful to watch as the WWF/WWE's "Rock 'n' Wrestling Connection", which I have tried very hard to forget.
All Japan Women's Pro-Wrestling really pushed this with several songs and CDs being released.
If the idea and the picture above are not enough to stop you...how about a video of the top five songs?

Mio Shirai - Female Japanese Wrestlers
I know that when I can't think of anything else to talk about, I usually go to Kana, but today I thought I'd mention one of my other favorite Joshi wrestlers, Mio Shirai.
It's almost like mentioning Kana.
Yeah I know I just posted about Mio and her sister Io when they were the Sexy Purple Thunder Sisters a while back, but Mio has been doing quite a bit in Japan solo.
Mio and Kana defeated Misaki Ohata and Tsukasa Fujimoto on April 21st, 2013 and won the Wave Tag Team Championship, which is the first title Triple Tails.S has had.
Oh yeah, Triple Tails.S is the Mio/Kana tag-team that used to be just called Triple Tails when Io was a member.
Occasionally Mio and Kana have to face each other like they did here at the Regina di Wave Championship tournament.
You can check out Mio's Facebook page here:

Ayumi Kurihara To Retire
I mentioned Ayumi Kurihara several months ago in a post about Joshi wrestlers here in the US.
Since then (on Match 28th, 2013) she announced that due to all the injuries she has suffered during her career, she will be retiring from professional wrestling on August 4th.
It's sad but Ayumi has had a great career since she first debuted in 2005.
She has held world championship titles in promotions like Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL), Dramatic Dream Team, NEO Japan Ladies Pro Wrestling, Oz Academy, Pro Wrestling Wave, Shimmer Women Athletes and Xtreme Latin American Wrestling.

Io Shirai and Mio Shirai - Japanese Female Wrestling
Io Shirai and Mio Shirai are two Japanese female wrestlers that were at one time part of the stable Team Makehen and were popularly known as "The Sexy Purple Thunder Sisters".
They debuted in 2007 and made a pretty good name for themselves in wrestling circles working for promotions like
Ibuki, Pro Wrestling Wave, Japanese Women Pro-Wrestling (JWP) Project, Sendai Girls' Pro Wrestling and a whole host of others.
In 2010, along with Kana, they formed the very popular Triple Tails stable.
And also in 2010, Mio and Io went to Mexico to work for Asistencia Asesoría y Administración (AAA), where they wrestled as Kaguya and Oyuki
In 2011, Io left the group to work on her singles career.

Mima Shimoda - Female Japanese Wrestlers
Here are a couple of shots of one of my favorite female Japanese wrestlers of all time, Mima Shimoda.
Mima was born on December 23rd, 1970 in Tokyo, Japan and was trained by the legendary Akira Hokuto.
She made her pro wrestling debut back on August 5th, 1987 so she has been wrestling for almost 30 years!
Now she is mainly in Mexico wrestling for Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL), but she does manage to get to back to Japan now and then to work for the promotions there.

Hiroyo Matsumoto and Misaki Ohata - Japanese Female Wrestling
As I have pointed out numerous times here, you dont have to go to Japan anymore to see great Japanese female wrestling.
Case in point, Hiroyo Matsumoto and Misaki Ohata who have been wrestling for Shimmer Women Athletes.
Hiroyo and Misaki were even the Shimmer Tag Team Champions at one point as "Seven Star Sisters".
Okay...they only held the titles for one day but still....
http://shimmerwrestling.blogspot.com/
Misaki has done quite a bit of wrestling for Shimmer, but hasn't appeared with the promotion since 2011.
Hiroyo has also worked for Shimmer and appeared as late as October 2012 with them.
