I used to say, "When in doubt post Kana."
But now it seems like the most popular lady here is the legendary Mimi Hagiwara.
So here is basically just a Mimi Hagiwara picture dump.
Enjoy.

Mimi Hagiwara - Japanese Female Wrestling
Well on this blog, Natsu Sumire, Michiko Omukai, Devil Masami and other Japanese female wrestlers are popular, but none of them are as popular as Mimi Hagiwara.
She started out as a model and an actress before she became a wrestler.
Mimi was trained by Jackie Sato and went on to become one of the most popular Japanese women wrestlers ever.
Mimi was remarkable in she would take a beating in a match like a true Jobber, but then come back to win even after it looked like she had taken all she could.
During her career she was the All Pacific Champion twice and held the WWWA Tag Team Championship with Yukari Omori.

Mimi Hagiwara vs Peggy Lee - Japanese Women Wrestling
He is a shot of female Japanese wrestler Mimi Hagiwara wrestling Peggy Lee.
Of course Peggy would go on to become the infamous "Peggy Lee Leather".
I think Mimi is about to hit her with a flying bodyblock.

Mimi Hagiwara vs Peggy Lee - Japanese Women Wrestling
Here is an "Old School" picture of Peggy Lee Leather going up against Mimi Hagiwara.
Well...pretty much mauling Mimi which is what Peggy was good at giving and Mimi was good at receiving.
And here is the match that I think the picture came from on YouTube....

More Japanese Female Wrestlers on YouTube
A while back I did an entry on Japanese Women Wrestling on YouTube with the most popular videos at the time.
Well it's been over a year so here are some of the most popular videos with Japanese women wrestlers on YouTube now.
First up we have Chihiro taking on Ray in a match from 2008 for the Japanese wrestling promotion Battlarts.
Even though Battlarts shut down in 2011, we can still see matches like this thanks to YouTube and TFCHooligan69.
Chihiro Oikawa vs. Ray (BattlArts 7/26/08)
Next we have a match between two classics, Ayako Hamada and Azumi Hyuga.
This match was for the Queen of Arsion Title back in 2001.
You'll notice this is just part one of the match and it's over nine minutes long which by itself is what....two WWE Diva matches?
This video was posted by nagashimark.
Ayako Hamada vs. Azumi Hyuga (Part 1)
Again we go back to TFCHooligan69 for this awesome match from 1989 between Manami Toyota and Toshiyo Yamada for the All Japan Women's Pro-Wrestling title.
There's 25 seconds of dark screen at the begining but dont freak out, it's there.
Manami Toyota vs. Toshiyo Yamada AJW 12-9-89
Next up, two more classic joshi wrestlers, Jaguar Yokota and Mimi Haghiwara.
Japanese female wrestling in all it's glory from Guam!
There is a lot of petite Mimi being tossed around by the powerful Jaguar.
This one was posted by rexmoro37.
Jaguar Yokota vs Mimi Haghiwara
You know I couldnt end this without a Kana video, so why not kick out all the jams and have Kana and The Shirai Sisters against Serena Deeb, Shuri and Mokoto.
I really couldn't name a much better modern joshi line up in a match.

Mimi Hagiwara vs Yumi Ikeshita - Japanese Female Wrestlers
Here is a match between Mimi Hagiwara and Yumi Ikeshita posted by hajimanko on YouTube.
Mimi of course is pretty much a joshi legend and considered one of the most beautiful women to ever set foot in a ring.
Mimi's opposite number here is Yumi Ikeshita, the leader of the Black Gundam, the Black Devils and she was the first All Pacific Women's Champion.
The clip starts out with the match underway and Yumi giving Mimi a tour of the cheap seats, headfirst.
Mimi get back to the ring and for a moment gets the upper hand with an abdominal stretch...
But Yumi comes back quickly running Mimi through a whole gambit of submission moves.
The Boston Crab...
A leg lock...
A bow and arrow...
And finally they engage in a back and forth Figure Four battle that basically turns into a leg war.
Unfortunately, the clip ends before the end of the match so we are left wondering who won.
But if you like to see suffering Mimi put through the paces, you'll like this.
By the way, if you'd like to see Mimi now, here is her Facebook page...

The Top Ten Japanese Female Wrestlers in August
I haven't done a top ten of Japanese female wrestlers here in awhile, so here we go.
1. Hamada
Without a doubt the most popular Japanese lady wrestler on here.
Of course the worldwide exposure on TNA has a "little" something to do with that.
I'm hoping that might start some more interest in Joshi Puroresu over here.
2. Kaori Yoneyama
Surprisingly to me, Kaori Yoneyama came in at the second postion.
Last month HybridDolphinELPS put up a video tribute to Kaori on YouTube that you can see here:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ey5lRK_r2ec
3. Francoise
Last month, the lovely Francoise, recently from Hustle, came in at number three.
Here's a short video of Francoise wrestling another Japanese beauty Cherry posted by persicummalum on YouTube
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WQZKsEYpJM0
4. Misaki Ohata
Coming in at number four is Misaki Ohata.
You can see a video of Misaki wrestling Sachiko posted by kapengmabula on YouTube here:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ThAWNB5ZIxs
5. Momoe Nakanishi
Japanese female wrestler Momoe Nakanishi came in at number five last month.
Here is a video of Momoe Nakanishi taking on Ayako Hamada (Yes, now TNA Knockout Hamada) at the AJW 35th Anniversary Show, May 11 2003 posted by the infamous DoubleMiz on YouTube:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8ktjRNdUO3w
6. Chaparrita Asari
The high flying Chaparrita Asari came in at number six last month.
You can watch a video of Chaparrita ASARI wrestling Baby-A from the ARSION 5th Anniversary Show, again posted by DoubleMiz on YouTube here:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B8YXllD3pAE
7. Etsuko Mita
Etsuko Mita came in at nuber seven last month.
Here is a video of Etsuko Mita taking on Hiroyo Matsumoto posted by nagashimark over at YouTube.
The match is from the NEO Stage 09 tournament, semi finals on February 8, 2009.
You can see it here:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XNqFZ2n3LuI
8. Kana
The popular Kana came in at number eight last month.
And here is a video of Kana taking on Minori Makiba at the May 5, 2009 NEO "May History", posted by yoshitonic1.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rTw4rkNhnGY
9. Kayoko Haruyama
Number nine last month was Kayoko Haruyama.
You can watch Kayoko Haruyama taking on Tojuki Leon on this video posted by kapengmabula on YouTube.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e2rUAOj7Yak
10. Mimi Hagiwara
And last, but not by any means least, is the beautiful Mimi Hagiwara.
Mimi no longer wrestles, but here is a video of her going up against Chigusa Nagayo. posted by hajimanko on YouTube
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F7WzzeyEt4Q
I'd like to thank all of these posters that have put up Joshi videos on YouTube, that give eveyone a chance to get in on the action.
If you go to the vids (sorry I didn't hyperlink them, but Goggle seems to get cranky if I do that too much in a post) make sure to subscribe to these posters channels.
And let them know you appreciate their work at getting these matches out there.
