Hana Kimura and Kagetsu - Japanese Female Wrestling
Here are Japanese female wrestlers Hana Kimura and Kagetsu.
I think Hana has become my new Kana (Now WWE Diva Asuka).
If I get bored, I just post a picture of Hana.
Anyway, Hana and Kagetsu are part of the Oedo Tai wrestling stable that I have mentioned before.

Io Shirai - Japanese Women Wrestling
Female Japanese wrestler Io Shirai has come a long way since I started following her and her sister (Mio Shirai) back in 2009.
Io has worked for All Japan Pro Wrestling (AJPW), Pro Wrestling Zero1, Ice Ribbon, NEO Japan Ladies Pro Wrestling, Asistencia AsesorÃa y Administración (AAA), World Wonder Ring Stardom and even showed up on Lucha Underground.
And there is a rumor that she might be signing with the WWE like her former team mate Kana (aka Asuka).

Mimi Hagiwara - Japanese Girls Wrestling
I used to say, "When in doubt post Kana."
But now it seems like the most popular lady here is the legendary Mimi Hagiwara.
So here is basically just a Mimi Hagiwara picture dump.
Enjoy.

Saki Akai - Female Japanese Wrestlers
This beautiful young lady is Japanese female wrestler Saki Akai.
Saki works for Dramatic Dream Team aka DDT Pro-Wrestling in Japan and has been wrestling since August 2013.
At five foot eight, 116 pounds she is hardly a "monster", but this woman that has been compared to Chinese supermodel Lin Chi-ling takes bumps in the ring like all the Japanese wrestlers do.
I can't imagine someone like WWE Diva Eva Marie taking the beatings that she does.

Kris Wolf - Japanese Female Wrestling
This young lady is a bit different for this blog.
Although she is Joshi through and through...she was born in the US.
Kristina Hernandez was born on August 12, 1984 in Chicago, Illinois.
She is a photographer, voiceover talent and pro wrestler in Japan.
Kris started out as a freelance photographer in San Francisco, California.
After living a year and a half in Japan, she saw a Stardom match on YouTube and was hooked.
She was trained by Fuka Kakimoto, and in 2014, she debuted as Kris Wolf.
This makes her the first foreigner to start out with a Japanese wrestling promotion and enter women's professional wrestling in Japan.

Asuka aka Kana in WWE NXT
The old rule of thumb here on this blog used to be "When in doubt...post Kana."
But now Kana is Asuka in the WWE and is the NXT Women's Champion.
And true to form she is still pretty much Kana.
So much so that Dave Meltzer (the Wrestling Observer Newsletter) said that she "may be the best worker in WWE, man or woman".
Yep...that's Kana.

Kana is now Kanna in the WWE
Well on August 22, 2015, Kanako Urai (better known to us as Kana) showed up on TV in the crowd at WWE's NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn event in Brooklyn, New York.
She was with Sgt. Slaughter and Ric Flair and was identified onscreen as "Kanna".
Five days later on August 27, the WWE indeed confirmed that she had signed with them a few weeks earlier.
So is she a Diva or a trainer?
Trainer would be awesome for the Divas and I bet that Kanna could still work matches for other promotions.
I just don't see Kanna as a WWE Diva, considering she could take out 90% of the roster by herself.

Syuri - Japanese Women Wrestling
Syuri Kondo was born on February 8th, 1989 in Ebina, Kanagawa.
She is five foot four, 128 pounds and made her pro wrestling debut on October 26, 2008.
Syuri was trained by Akira Nogami, Akira Shoji, Hajime Ohara, Yoshihiro Tajiri (yes, ECW's and WWE's Tajiri).
She has wrestled for many promotions including Hustle, Pro Wrestling Wave, Reina Joshi Puroresu, Smash, Wrestling New Classic
Besides wrestling, Syuri also competes in Shoot boxing and kickboxing where she has a 12-1-0 record.
Personally, I think she is one of the best female wrestlers to set foot in a ring, in Japan, Mexico or the US.

Arisa Nakajima and Syuri - Japanese Women Wrestling
Here's a shot of Japanese female wrestlers Arisa Nakajima and Syuri mixing it up.
I think this shot is from Kana's KanaProMania: Advance event on February 15th, 2015 where Arisa and Kana lost the Reina World Tag Team Championship to Hikaru Shida and Syuri.

On November 20th, 2014, in Tokyo, Japan, Arisa Nakajima and Kana defeated Lin Byron and Syuri in the finals of a four-team tournament to win the vacant Reina World Tag Team Championships.

Mio Shirai - Japanese Women's Wrestling
Right behind Kana, Mio Shirai is one of the most popular women on this blog.
She was trained by Tomohiko Hashimoto and Toshie Uematsu and has been wrestling for almost eight years.
Of course in the beginning she was teamed with her younger sister Io Shirai as the "Purple Thunder" sisters.
Then for a while they both formed the Triple Tails stable with the popular Kana.
Currently Mio has a four way contract with Japanese wrestling promotions Ice Ribbon, Oz Academy, Pro Wrestling Wave and Union Pro.

Mima Shimoda wrestling Etsuko Mita
I keep thinking I'm gonna give nagashimark a break, but with great Japanese female wrestling videos like this one, who can?
This one is a match between two great Joshi wrestlers, Mima Shimoda and Etsuko Mita that took place in the NEO wrestling promotion in 1998.
Mima was born on 23, 1970 and she made her pro wrestling debut against Etsuko Mita back in 1987 at Korakuen Hall in Tokyo.
Etsuko was born on May 28, 1969 in Toyko and at one time was part of a very successful tag-team with Mima.
She is also credited with creating the "Death Valley Driver", a brutal finishing move that is a brainbuster type slam performed from a fireman's carry.
I have also heard that the move is banned in some promotions for being too dangerous.
This video has the two former tag-team partners facing off, and it seems there is a great deal of animosity between them.
They face off, trade a few opening moves and size each other up.
Etsuko get Mima down early on, and Mima retaliates by biting her on the knee.
Etsuko gets Mima down and clamps on a figure four leg-lock.
Which puts Mima in a world of hurt.
Mima escapes the figure four, and clamps one of her own on Etsuko.
Not satisfied with that, Mima rolls her over and applies a toe-hold.
But Etsuko escapes and the match goes out of the wrestling ring and into the crowd.
Here is part one of the match
You can go to nagashimark's YouTube channel here and see the rest, plus other great Joshi videos.
And while youre at it, you can subscribe to the channel to see more great Japanese wrestling action.
And no, nagashimark isnt paying me to say all this...LOL
