Kris Wolf - Japanese Female Wrestling

This young lady is a bit different for this blog.
Although she is Joshi through and through...she was born in the US.
Kristina Hernandez was born on August 12, 1984 in Chicago, Illinois.
She is a photographer, voiceover talent and pro wrestler in Japan.
Kris started out as a freelance photographer in San Francisco, California.
After living a year and a half in Japan, she saw a Stardom match on YouTube and was hooked.
She was trained by Fuka Kakimoto, and in 2014, she debuted as Kris Wolf.
This makes her the first foreigner to start out with a Japanese wrestling promotion and enter women's professional wrestling in Japan.

Asuka aka Kana in WWE NXT

The old rule of thumb here on this blog used to be "When in doubt...post Kana."
But now Kana is Asuka in the WWE and is the NXT Women's Champion.
And true to form she is still pretty much Kana.
So much so that Dave Meltzer (the Wrestling Observer Newsletter) said that she "may be the best worker in WWE, man or woman".
Yep...that's Kana.

Jaguar Yokota - Japanese Lady Wrestlers

You know I have done quite a few write ups on Japanese female wrestler Jaguar Yokota since I started this blog.
But I didn't realize that back in the day...she was kinda hot.
Of course "hot" is not her claim to fame.
Jaguar is considered one of the greatest female wrestlers of all time, and one of the greatest wrestlers ever...period.

During her career Jaguar (Rimi Yokota) held the All Japan Women's Pro-Wrestling Championship, the AJW Junior Championship, the WWWA World Heavyweight Championship twice, the WWWA World Tag Team Championship and was put in the AJW Hall of Fame in 1998.
In JDStar she held the AWF World Women's Championship, the TWF World Women's Championship and the TWF World Tag Team Championship.
She held the Universal Wrestling Association World Women's Championship, the World Woman Pro-Wrestling Diana World Tag Team Championship and in 1996, she was inducted into the Wrestling Observer Newsletter Hall of Fame.

Mimi Hagiwara - Japanese Female Wrestling

Well on this blog, Natsu Sumire, Michiko Omukai, Devil Masami and other Japanese female wrestlers are popular, but none of them are as popular as Mimi Hagiwara.

She started out as a model and an actress before she became a wrestler.
Mimi was trained by Jackie Sato and went on to become one of the most popular Japanese women wrestlers ever.

Mimi was remarkable in she would take a beating in a match like a true Jobber, but then come back to win even after it looked like she had taken all she could.
During her career she was the All Pacific Champion twice and held the WWWA Tag Team Championship with Yukari Omori.

Mimi Hagiwara vs Peggy Lee - Japanese Women Wrestling

Here is an "Old School" picture of Peggy Lee Leather going up against Mimi Hagiwara.
Well...pretty much mauling Mimi which is what Peggy was good at giving and Mimi was good at receiving.

And here is the match that I think the picture came from on YouTube....

Japanese Female Wrestler - Cuty Suzuki (Cutie Suzuki)

Cuty Suzuki - Cutie Suzuki - japan female wrestling

And next to Chikako Shiratori, the most popular Japanese female wrestler here lately is the lady that was in the video I linked to last time, Cuty Suzuki (Cutie Suzuki).
Cuty was born on October 22, 1969 in Kawaguchi, Saitama, Japan and made her pro wrestling debut on September 19, 1986.
Cuty is retired now, but during her career, she held the UWA Junior Wrestling title, the JWP Junior Wrestling title and one half of the JWP Tag Team Women's Wrestling titles five times.
Twice with Mayumi Ozaki, once with Devil Masami and twice with Dynamite Kansai.

Here is a video of Cuty going up against Candy Okutsu in a JWP match from July 18, 1997, posted once again to YouTube by nagashimark.
